A letter from Aryan Kaganof

You must understand that I believe your work to be hugely underrated. The significance of your vision, which marries an analysis of power dynamics to really transgressive formal interaction in a humorous and therefore human way, cannot be underestimated.
The work transcends the Swedish condition and becomes universal, really great art. If this was not reason enough to be excited about filming you, there is of course the peculiar history of repression and isolation that you have lived through. A very cruel and complete attempt to keep you quiet.
The great beauty of your story is that nothing can keep you quiet! The joy with which I see you attacking the Brillo Boxes project is so encouraging: there you go again! It is a practical example of the Japanese philosopher Yamamoto’s dictum, “stumble and fall seven times, bounce back up eight.”
In short, I feel very excited about the opportunity of making your story a bit better known to the world using the medium at my disposal. /Best wishes Aryan (21-04-2008)
